So, on one of the hottest days of the year, it was out job as a group to move out of the studio. A room in which we occupy and have lived for the past year, creating work, now was the time to move out. I wish that I had taken a photo of the studio before we left because it reached the point that we were so productive that moving around the room became like an obstacle course. We worked from 9am, moving out our work, and then all of the furniture, chairs, tables, filing cabinets and eventually even the walls got moved out ready for the cleaners to come in. I must say that without working as a team to get it all done, and all of our collective effort, even sacrificing a precious sunny day, it would not have been possible.
It took 2 car journeys to move all of my work out and its now occupying a small area in our living room much to my other 8 house mates dismay.
So there it is, my entire year packed up into 9 boxes and a car full of plaster. All in all at the moment I have created 45 pieces for the degree show, only 4 of these boxes are actually previous work as all of it has been used and adapted for new work. It felt so strange moving out but not long till the degree show now, Im starting to get less stressed and more excited by the day.
